Groom: You called the police while standing at the altar?!
Sarah's Father: I have built corporate assets for forty years, Brandon. I know a criminal when I hear one.
Groom: You can't lock me up for planning a divorce!
Sarah's Father: No, but we can lock you up for forged financial signatures on our prenuptial agreement.
Brandon froze, his eyes widening in pure horror as Sarah's father pulled a folded legal paper from his coat pocket.
Groom: Where... where did you get that document?
Sarah's Father: Our corporate attorney verified the notary signature an hour ago, Brandon. You forged my daughter's signature to strip the fraud protection clause.
Bride: You forged my signature on our prenup?!
Groom: Sarah, I had to! Your father's legal terms were ridiculous!
Bride: My father's terms were designed to protect my family's inheritance from scammers like you!
Groom: I loved you, Sarah! I really did!
Bride: You loved my family's bank accounts, Brandon. You never gave a single damn about me.
Lily tugged gently on Sarah's white silk gown, looking up with a soft smile.
Lily: Aunt Sarah, are you sad?
Bride: I'm not sad, sweetheart. I am so happy you brought this camera today.
Lily: Mommy told me to record everything special so we wouldn't forget.
Bride: You saved my entire life today, Lily. You're the bravest girl in the world.
The heavy mahogany doors at the back of the chapel swung open, and three police officers in dark blue uniforms stepped into the aisle.
Officer Miller: Who called regarding a financial forgery and fraud in progress?
Sarah's Father: Over here, Officer. This man right here, Brandon Vance.
Groom: Officer, wait! This is a private family dispute! We had a disagreement at the wedding altar!
Officer Miller: Mr. Vance, we have an active warrant for your arrest from the state financial crimes unit.
Brandon's jaw dropped as he took a step back, hitting the railing of the altar steps.
Groom: A warrant?! For what?!
Officer Miller: Grand larceny, wire fraud, and identity theft involving the Sterling Estate Trust.
