The Confession under Oath

The Diamond Ring From The Graveyard banner

Paramedic: Her heart rate is stable, but she's severely dehydrated and malnourished. We need to transport her to St. Jude Hospital immediately.

Arthur: Take her to the private wing on the top floor. I'll cover every expense.

Two hours later, St. Jude Hospital was surrounded by local news vans and police cars. The story of the billionaire's wife rescued from a fake hospice had spread through the city like wildfire.

Inside the private room, Victoria was hooked up to IV fluids, her color slowly returning as Leo sat on the edge of her bed, holding her hand tightly.

Leo: I told Dad you were alive, Mommy. I remembered the car Aunt Eleanor drove us in.

Victoria: You were so brave, my brave little boy...

Detective Miller stepped into the hospital room, holding a thick leather folder filled with official documents.

Miller: Mr. Vance, we executed a search warrant on Eleanor's private residence and corporate office.

Arthur: What did you find?

Miller: Over two million dollars in offshore bank accounts, forged power of attorney papers, and a signed contract with the corrupt doctor who declared Mrs. Vance deceased six months ago.

Arthur: The doctor was in on it too?

Miller: Dr. Harrison. We arrested him at his home an hour ago. He already signed a full confession to avoid a life sentence.

Clara: What about Eleanor?

Miller: She's being held without bail on charges of attempted murder, grand larceny, kidnapping, and corporate fraud. She's looking at thirty to forty years in state prison.

Arthur: Make sure she serves every single day of it.

Victoria reached out from the bed, taking Clara's hand in her own, her weak fingers wrapping around the diamond ring still sitting on Clara's finger.

Victoria: Arthur... I want you to make an official legal announcement tomorrow morning.

Arthur: Anything you want, Victoria. Name it.

Victoria: Clara is my biological daughter. I want her recognized as a full heir to the Vance family trust fund and estate.

Clara: Mom... you don't have to do that. I just wanted you to be safe.

Victoria: You saved my life, Clara. You wore that ring and stood up to a room full of powerful people without backing down. You are a Vance.

Arthur looked at Clara, his eyes filled with immense respect and gratitude.

Arthur: She's right, Clara. You brought my wife back to me, and you gave my son his mother back. You will never have to work a waitress shift again in your life.
