Arthur: A scar on her left wrist... Victoria had a scar from a childhood surgery.
Clara: She gave me this ring and told me if anything happened to her, I had to find Arthur Vance!
Arthur: You... you were looking for me?
Clara: I didn't know who you were until I saw your name on the event banner tonight! I'm Victoria's daughter from her first marriage!
Arthur stood frozen as the realization hit him like a physical blow. He looked from Clara's trembling face to the square-cut diamond ring, then over to his sister.
Arthur: Victoria mentioned she had a daughter she was forced to give up when she was young... she searched for her for years.
Eleanor: This is a scam! A setup to ruin our corporate merger!
Arthur: Silence, Eleanor!
Arthur pulled his smartphone out of his tuxedo jacket, his hands shaking violently as he dialed a number.
Eleanor: Who are you calling?!
Arthur: Judge Reynolds. I want an emergency court order to exhume the family vault immediately.
Eleanor: You can't exhume a grave on the word of a waitress and a seven-year-old child!
Arthur: I own the cemetery plot, Eleanor! I can open that vault tonight if I want to!
Clara: Please... my mother is still alive! They keep her in a private care house past the county line!
Arthur: What care house?! Tell me the name, Clara!
Clara: Oakridge Sanctuary! She's being held under a fake name!
Eleanor: Security, grab that girl's bag! She's trespassing on private property!
Two large security guards in black suits stepped forward, but Arthur immediately stood between them and Clara.
Arthur: Touch her and I will have you both arrested as accomplices to kidnapping!
Guard: Sir, Ms. Eleanor is our primary supervisor for this event...
Arthur: I pay your paychecks! I own Vance Enterprises! Step back now!
The guards hesitated, looking at each other before backing away into the crowd.
Boy: Dad, look at Aunt Eleanor's phone.
Arthur looked over just in time to see Eleanor frantically typing a text message on her screen, her fingers moving in a blur.
Arthur: Give me that phone, Eleanor!
Eleanor: Get away from me, Arthur!
Arthur lunged forward and snatched the device directly out of her hands. He looked at the active chat screen, reading the text she had just drafted.
Arthur: 'Clear room 104 immediately. Move the patient to the secondary location before the police arrive.'
Clara: She's moving my mother!
Arthur: You evil, greedy monster!
Eleanor: You don't understand, Arthur! She was going to change the will! She was going to leave fifty percent of the estate to this illegitimate daughter!
Arthur: It was Victoria's money to begin with! Her father built this entire company!
Eleanor: I spent twenty years working for this family! I deserved that inheritance, not some orphan waitress!
Arthur: You traded my wife's life for a trust fund?!
