The Eviction

The Billionaire's Will and the Silver Basin banner

Victoria: My dress is ruined! This is custom Italian silk!

Agent: Ma'am, turn around and present your wrists. You are also under arrest.

Victoria: Arrest? For what? I didn't sign anything!

Agent: You are listed as a co-conspirator on the offshore accounts. Turn around.

Victoria: Sarah, please! Tell them I didn't know. Tell them Richard did it all!

Richard: You backstabbing coward! Don't you dare blame this on me, Victoria.

Victoria: You told me the paperwork was legal! You said the lawyer handled it!

Sarah: The wire recordings captured both of you planning the embezzlement. There is no way out.

Richard: I want my phone call. I want to call the board of directors.

Sarah: I already called them, Richard. They voted unanimously to remove you as CEO an hour ago.

Richard: They can't do that without a shareholder meeting!

Sarah: I am the majority shareholder. My vote was the only one that mattered.

The guests in the grand hall watched in stunned silence as the agents slapped steel handcuffs onto Richard and Victoria.

Guest: I can't believe it. Richard was stealing from the charity?

Guest 2: And abusing his wife. Disgusting.

Victoria: Stop looking at us! We are victims of a setup!

Sarah: Take them out through the front doors. I want the press outside to get a good look at them.

Agent: Yes, ma'am. Let's move.

Richard: This isn't over, Sarah. I will tie you up in court for the next ten years!

Sarah: Good luck affording a lawyer with a public defender, Richard.

The agents dragged Richard to his feet. He struggled against the handcuffs, his tuxedo wrinkled and stained.

Victoria was sobbing uncontrollably, her ruined black dress clinging to her legs as she was led away.

Victoria: Where am I supposed to live? Everything is in the house!

Sarah: You can keep the silver basin, Victoria. You are going to need it to wash your own clothes in prison.

The heavy front doors of the mansion slammed shut, cutting off Richard's frantic screaming.

Sarah stood alone in the center of the grand hall. The bruised cheek still ached, but she barely felt it anymore.

She pulled out her white smartphone and dialed her estate lawyer.

Lawyer: Hello, Sarah. Did the extraction go smoothly?

Sarah: Yes. They are in the back of the federal vehicles right now.

Lawyer: Excellent. I have the legal team standing by to take control of the corporate accounts.

Sarah: Cancel the charity gala catering. Tell everyone the party is over.

Lawyer: Understood. And what about the mansion?

Sarah: Call a cleaning crew. I want every trace of Richard and Victoria scrubbed from these marble floors by morning.
