Sabrina: I did it because I love you, Marcus! I've loved you since we were kids!
Marcus: This isn't love. This is greed and insanity.
Sabrina: What are you going to do? Call the police? Ruin your family's reputation on national television?
Marcus: I don't care about my family's reputation anymore. Where is Hannah being held right now?
Sabrina: I won't tell you! If you call the cops, you'll never find her!
Marcus pulled his cell phone out of his suit pocket and tapped the screen, holding it up to his ear.
Sabrina: Who are you calling?!
Marcus: Detective Miller. He's been investigating Hannah's disappearance for three years because I never believed the official accident report.
Sabrina's face drained of all color. She lunged forward, trying to grab the phone from his hands, but Marcus shoved her back onto the large velvet bed.
Marcus: Detective Miller? I need you to bring a squad to the estate right now. I have the medical records, the DNA proof, and the safe code.
Detective Miller: Is Sabrina there with you, Marcus?
Marcus: Yes, she's right here. And she's going to tell us where Hannah is before she leaves this house in handcuffs.
Sabrina sat on the edge of the bed, tears running down her face, ruining her bridal makeup.
Sabrina: I'll tell you! Just don't let them put me in prison! Please, Marcus!
Marcus: Speak. Where is she?
Sabrina: She's at St. Jude's Care Home in Burlington... room 204. She's registered under the name Sarah Jenkins.
Detective Miller: I heard that clearly, Marcus. Officers are already heading to St. Jude's now. We'll be at your front gate in ten minutes.
Marcus hung up the phone and looked down at Sabrina, who was weeping uncontrollably on the bed, her expensive veil tangled around her shoulders.
Marcus: How could you do this to a human being, Sabrina? How could you sleep at night knowing you took a baby from her mother?
Sabrina: She didn't deserve you! She was just a school teacher with no family money! I am a Sterling! I belonged by your side!
Marcus: My father married a teacher, Sabrina. Money never mattered to him, and it never mattered to me. You destroyed your own life for nothing.
Marcus turned around and walked out of the master bedroom, leaving Sabrina sobbing alone on the bed.
He walked down the stairs, his footsteps heavy against the stone. He walked into the kitchen, where Elena was sitting at the wooden table, giving Lily a small cup of apple juice.
Marcus: Elena... thank you for speaking up today. You saved my daughter.
Elena: I couldn't carry the lie anymore, Mr. Marcus. Every time I saw Lily crying for her mother, my heart broke into pieces.
Marcus: You'll never have to worry about Sabrina again. The police are on their way, and she will be going to trial for kidnapping and fraud.
Lily looked up from her juice box, her big blue eyes blinking innocently at Marcus.
Lily: Are you my daddy?
Marcus felt tears spring to his eyes as he dropped to his knees on the kitchen floor, holding his arms out wide.
Marcus: Yes, sweetie... I am your daddy. And I am never going to let anyone hurt you again.
