Marcus: Get her! Security, grab that woman right now!
Security Guard: Sir, please stay down. You're bleeding from your shoulder.
Marcus: I don't care about my shoulder! She just humiliated me in front of the entire board!
Eleanor pulled herself up from the floor with the help of two nervous waiters, clutching her bruised arm while staring at the broken table in sheer horror.
Eleanor: Marcus, stop screaming! Look at all these reporters! They're filming everything!
Marcus: Let them film! That nobody in the black dress is going to pay for this! She's just an assistant!
Samantha: She was never your assistant, Marcus. You just never bothered to read her employment contract.
Marcus pushed the security guards away and stumbled to his feet, wiping a streak of red blood from his forehead.
Marcus: What are you talking about, Samantha? She worked for my father's firm for three years!
Samantha: Your father didn't hire her. She inherited fifty-one percent of the trust fund that owns your father's firm.
Eleanor: What?! That's impossible! Richard promised me that trust fund in our divorce settlement!
Samantha: Richard lied to you, Eleanor. Just like he lied to the IRS about his offshore accounts.
Marcus clutched his bruised ribs, his teeth grinding together as he stared toward the front entrance where Victoria had disappeared.
Marcus: Call the police! I want her arrested for domestic battery and assault!
Samantha: The police won't help you, Marcus. Look at the security cameras above the bar. You swung first and hit your own mother. She acted in self-defense.
Eleanor: Marcus, tell me she's lying! Tell me that girl doesn't own our family business!
Marcus: Shut up, mother! I'll handle this! I'm calling our corporate lawyer right now!
Marcus reached into his tuxedo jacket and pulled out his phone, his hands shaking as he dialed his primary attorney, David Vance.
David: Marcus? Why are you calling me at nine o'clock on a Saturday night?
Marcus: David, I need you to file an emergency injunction against Victoria Sterling right now!
David: Victoria Sterling? Marcus, where are you right now?
Marcus: I'm at the Grand Plaza gala! She just attacked me and wrecked the main ballroom!
There was a long, heavy silence on the line before David spoke again, his voice sounding flat and exhausted.
David: Marcus... stop talking. I just received a formal notice from the state court ten minutes ago.
Marcus: A notice for what?!
David: Victoria Sterling just executed her majority voting rights. She removed you and your mother from the board of directors, effective immediately.
Marcus: She can't do that! I'm the Chief Executive Officer!
David: You were the Chief Executive Officer, Marcus. As of five minutes ago, all your corporate credit cards are frozen, your company car is being repossessed, and your access to the main server network has been revoked.
Marcus: No... no! That's impossible! She was just a quiet girl sitting at a desk!
David: That quiet girl's father built the entire infrastructure your family spent ten years stealing. And now she's taking it all back.
