Security Officer: What's the situation here, Sarah?
Nurse Sarah: This woman physically assaulted the patient in bed four. The patient pressed the panic button, and there's a fresh mark on her face.
Eleanor: This is a massive misunderstanding! I am Eleanor Vance! My family donated the east wing of this hospital!
Security Officer: I don't care if you built the hospital, ma'am. If you put hands on a patient, you're leaving in handcuffs.
Eleanor: Don't you dare lay a finger on my sweater!
David: Officer, please, my mother was just upset about family documents...
Security Officer: Sir, step back against the wall. Do not interfere.
The guard grabbed Eleanor's arm and guided her firmly toward the hallway. Eleanor squirmed against his grip, her golden hair coming loose from her expensive hairclip.
Eleanor: David! Do something! Call our corporate lawyers right now!
David: I... I don't have my phone on me...
Eleanor: You useless coward! I raised you to take over an empire, and you can't even stand up to a hospital guard!
Maya: Let her scream. The whole floor needs to hear who she really is.
Eleanor: Shut your mouth, Maya! You wouldn't even be alive if I hadn't taken you in after your father died!
Maya: You took me in so you could control my inheritance. You spent six million dollars of my mother's life insurance payout on your private jet charter and luxury shopping sprees.
The surrounding nurses and staff gasped, turning their heads toward Eleanor in disgust.
Nurse Sarah: Is that true, ma'am?
Eleanor: It's a lie! She's trying to ruin my reputation!
Maya: The bank statements were delivered to the district attorney two hours ago.
Eleanor froze in her tracks, her mouth opening in sheer horror as the guard held her arms behind her back.
Eleanor: District attorney? What are you talking about?
Maya: Did you really think my car accident was just bad weather, Eleanor?
David: Maya... what do you mean?
Maya: The mechanic found the cut brake lines yesterday morning. The police were already investigating before you even walked into this room with your fake papers.
David staggered backward against the doorway, his eyes wide with horror as he looked at his mother.
David: Mother... did you tamper with her car?
Eleanor: Of course not! She's lying to set us up!
David: You told me she crashed because she was driving too fast in the rain!
Eleanor: Be quiet, David! Don't say another word in front of these people!
Security Officer: We're going down to the administration office until the city police arrive. Walk calmly, ma'am.
Eleanor: You will all pay for this! Every single one of you will be fired!
The guard escorted Eleanor out into the corridor, her high heels clicking loudly against the linoleum until her screeching voice faded around the corner.
Nurse Sarah: Are you okay, Maya? Do you need more pain medication?
Maya: I'm okay, Sarah. Just get him out of my room too.
Maya pointed her trembling finger toward David, who stood trembling by the door, completely broken.
David: Maya, please... I didn't know about the brakes. I swear I didn't know!
Maya: You held my hands while she stole my life. Get out, David.
