Liam: Medical fraud files? Clara, what are you making up now?
Clara: Ask your mother about the illegal adoption contract she signed in 2004.
Victoria gasped loudly, stumbling back against a silver catering table and knocking over a tray of crystal glasses.
Victoria: How... how do you know about that contract?
Clara: Because the woman who raised me in Ohio kept every single letter you sent her!
Liam: Mother... what is she talking about? You told me you searched for your missing daughter for ten years!
Victoria: Liam, stay out of this! It was a private family matter before you were even born!
Clara: Tell him the truth, Victoria! Tell your precious golden son why you paid a nurse fifty thousand dollars to swap infants!
The entire hall fell into a dead, suffocating silence. Even the catering staff stopped moving, staring at Victoria in absolute shock.
Guest 1: Did she just say infant swapping?!
Guest 2: My God... the Vance family fortune was built on a crime!
Liam: Mother... answer her! Is this true?!
Victoria: I had no choice, Liam! Your father's will clearly stated that if I didn't give birth to a male heir within five years, his brothers would inherit the entire estate and the corporate trust!
Liam: So... so you traded away your own newborn baby girl just to get a boy?!
Victoria: I didn't trade you away! I paid a poor surrogate mother to take the baby girl so I could claim a boy from an agency!
Clara: You sold me like a piece of unwanted furniture, Victoria! You paid a nurse to falsify my birth records and ship me off to an orphanage in Columbus!
Victoria reached out her hands, sobbing uncontrollably as she tried to bridge the distance between them on the marble floor.
Victoria: I looked for you later! When your father passed away, I hired detectives to find the swallow mark!
Clara: You didn't hire detectives to find your daughter, Victoria. You hired them because you realized my foster mother left me twenty percent of the regional utility stock in her will!
Victoria: That's not true! I wanted my daughter back!
Clara: You wanted my voting shares on the corporate board so you could stop the bank foreclosure on your mansion!
Liam stared at his mother in complete horror, stepping away from her as if she were a dangerous stranger.
Liam: You used me... You told me to marry Clara because you said she was a sweet, lonely girl from out of state!
Victoria: Liam, listen to me! Everything I did, I did to protect our family's inheritance!
Liam: You made me fall in love with my own sister just to steal her stock shares?!
Clara: He isn't your brother, Clara. Liam was adopted from a private agency in Texas. You two share zero blood.
Clara pulled a thick yellow envelope out from inside her bridal bouquet folder and tossed it onto the glass table near the altar.
Clara: The official DNA results are inside that folder. I am your biological daughter, Victoria. And Liam is an adopted child you bought to keep your husband's trust fund.
Victoria: No... no, please! Don't open that in front of everyone!
Clara: The police prosecutor already opened it two hours ago.
