Returning Home She Found Her Elderly Parents Living On The Sidewalk banner

Russell stared at Marin, his arrogant smirk flickering for a split second before he forced a loud laugh.

Russell: Sterling? You expect me to believe you're related to the Sterling family? You drove a ten-year-old sedan when I met you!

Marin: I drove that car because I wanted to find a man who loved me for who I was, not my family's money. It turns out I picked a rat instead.

Tiffany: Russell... is she telling the truth? Is this house really not yours?

Russell: Don't listen to her, Tiffany! She's trying to scare us. Hey! Guards, throw her out right now!

Guard 1 tapped his ear piece as a sharp chime buzzed from his radio clip.

Guard 1: Hold on a second, Mr. Vance. Central dispatch is calling in an emergency override code.

Russell: I don't care about dispatch! I'm paying your invoice!

Guard 2: Sir... our company headquarters just canceled your service agreement. They said your credit cards were declined.

Russell: Declined?! That's impossible! I have three hundred thousand dollars in the joint checking account!

Marin tapped her phone screen and held the display up for Russell to see.

Marin: The joint account was frozen ten minutes ago, Russell. Along with your black card, your auto loans, and your offshore investment fund.

Russell: You can't freeze my personal accounts! That's illegal!

Marin: Those accounts were funded entirely by transfers from my family trust. The moment you forged my signature, you committed federal bank fraud.

Tiffany pulled her arm away from Russell's shoulder, stepping back toward the open doorway.

Tiffany: Russell, what is going on?! You told me you owned a shipping conglomerate!

Russell: Quiet, Tiffany! Marin, you're playing a dangerous game here!

Marin: No, Russell. The game is already over. Look down the street.

Two black SUVs pulled into the driveway, blocking Russell's sports car. Four men in crisp dark suits stepped out, holding thick leather document folders.

Lead Attorney: Miss Sterling. We have the temporary restraining order signed by the state judge, along with the eviction warrant.

Marin: Thank you, Mr. Vance. Did you contact the district attorney?

Lead Attorney: State prosecutors are reviewing the forged power of attorney document right now. Warrant officers are en route.

Russell's face went completely pale. He dropped his glass of scotch, letting it shatter against the stone porch steps.

Russell: Marin... please. Let's step inside and talk about this like adults.

Marin: We aren't talking, Russell. You spoke enough when you threw my family onto the street.

Tiffany: I didn't know anything about this! I was just invited here for the weekend! I'm leaving!

Lead Attorney: Nobody leaves the property until state police arrive to conduct an inventory of the estate's personal items, ma'am.

Tiffany: What?! I'm a guest!

Marin: You're wearing my mother's emerald necklace, Tiffany. Take it off right now before I have you charged as an accomplice.

Tiffany gasped, her hands flying to her neck as she unclasped the green gemstone necklace and threw it onto the porch floor.

Tiffany: Take your stupid necklace! Russell, you're a fraud!

Russell: Tiffany, wait! Don't run off!

Marin: Where is my father's watch, Russell?

Russell stepped back, his hands shaking as he reached into his robe pocket and pulled out the vintage gold timepiece.

Russell: Here! Take it! I was just keeping it safe for him!

Marin: Safe? You took it off an old man's wrist while your hired goons threw his belongings in the dirt.

Marin snatched the watch from his hand, her knuckles turning white as she gripped the gold band.

Marin: You have three minutes to pack your clothes in a trash bag and walk off my land, Russell.

Russell: Marin, please... I have nowhere to go! My cards don't work!

Marin: Then I suggest you walk down to the bus stop. I hear the pavement is very comfortable this time of year.
