Evelyn: This is ridiculous! What kind of fake paper is that?!
Lawyer: It is an official county property deed, Mrs. Vance. Registered under Claire Miller’s name three years before she ever met your son.
Daniel: That’s impossible! My mother told me this estate belonged to my father’s trust!
Claire: Your mother lied to you, Daniel. Just like she lied to you about everything else.
Daniel struggled to his feet, his face red with humiliation and anger as he stared at the lawyer.
Lawyer: I am Mr. Harrison, primary legal counsel for the Miller Family Trust. And I am here to inform you that your presence on this estate constitutes illegal trespassing as of five minutes ago.
Evelyn: We’ve lived here for two years! You can’t just kick us out like dogs!
Claire: You lived here because I allowed you to, Evelyn. Because I was foolish enough to believe you treated me like a daughter.
Evelyn: You were nothing! My son brought you into high society!
Claire: High society? Your son was drowning in three million dollars of personal gambling debt when I met him!
Daniel’s eyes widened in sheer panic as he looked at his mother.
Daniel: Claire, shut up! Don't say another word!
Lawyer: Mr. Vance, we are fully aware of the offshore accounts you opened using your wife’s forged signature.
Claire: You thought I was stupid, Daniel. You thought if you bullied me into signing that fake divorce paper today, I wouldn't notice the missing funds from my inheritance.
Daniel: It wasn't like that! I was going to pay the mortgage back next month!
Evelyn: Daniel, what is he talking about? What mortgage?!
Claire: He took out a secondary mortgage on your condo to pay off his bookies, Evelyn.
Evelyn gasped, clutching her chest as she stared at her son in utter disbelief.
Evelyn: Daniel... tell me she's lying! Tell me my home is safe!
Daniel: Mom, listen to me! I had a bad streak at the casino in Vegas! I was going to win it all back once Claire signed over her trust shares!
Claire: But I didn't sign, Daniel. And now, you have sixty seconds to grab your coats and get out before local law enforcement arrives.
Lawyer: Two police cruisers are already parked at the main security gates, Mr. Vance. They are waiting for my signal.
Evelyn: You monster! You ruined my son’s life!
Claire: Your son ruined his own life the moment he decided to treat me like trash in my own home.
Claire folded her arms, her stance steady as she watched Daniel scramble to grab his briefcase from the sofa.
Daniel: This isn't over, Claire! My divorce lawyer will sue you for alimony!
Lawyer: Good luck with that, Mr. Vance. Your prenuptial agreement specifically states that any act of financial fraud or spousal abuse nullifies all marital asset claims.
Claire: Goodbye, Daniel. Don't forget your coat.
Daniel grabbed his mother by the arm, dragging her trembling body toward the foyer as the heavy front doors slammed shut behind them.
Claire let out a long, shaky breath, sinking down into a velvet armchair as Mr. Harrison set his briefcase on the table.
Lawyer: Are you alright, Miss Claire?
Claire: I'm better than alright, Mr. Harrison. Let's make sure they lose every single penny they tried to steal from me.
