The Eviction Notice

Cruel Mother-In-Law Throws Newborn Baby And Mother Out Into The Rain banner

Victoria: Daniel, get up off the floor! Help me move the expensive paintings to the car before the police get here!

Daniel: It's over, Mom. Can't you see that? It's all over.

Victoria: Nothing is over! We still have rights!

A white sheriff's deputy cruiser pulled up to the gate, its red and blue lights flashing against the white marble pillars.

Two deputies stepped out, holding legal eviction notices attached to yellow clipboards.

Deputy Davis: Victoria Vance?

Victoria: Yes! What is the meaning of this intrusion?!

Deputy Davis: We have an emergency court order signed by Judge Roberts authorizing the immediate lockout of this property.

Victoria: Judge Roberts is a friend of mine! Call him right now!

Deputy Davis: Judge Roberts is the one who signed the warrant, ma'am. You have fifteen minutes to gather personal clothing and step off the premises.

Daniel: Fifteen minutes? We've lived here for twenty years!

Deputy Davis: Should have paid your mortgage, son. Movers are on their way to lock the doors and inventory the furniture.

Victoria rushed back toward the front door, but the second deputy stepped into her path, blocking the entryway.

Deputy Davis: Stand back, ma'am. You are not permitted back inside the residence without a court-appointed escort.

Victoria: You're touching me! That's assault! I'll sue this entire department!

Deputy Davis: You can sue whoever you want from the sidewalk, ma'am. Right now, you need to step past those gates.

Daniel slowly stood up, looking at his mother's ruined makeup and frantic, desperate eyes.

Daniel: You ruined everything, Mom. My marriage, my child, my future... all because of your stupid pride.

Victoria: I did it for you! I wanted you to marry a woman of high society!

Daniel: Clara was the daughter of a billionaire, Mom! She was higher society than you could ever dream of being!

Victoria: How was I supposed to know that?! She looked like a nobody!

Daniel: Because you judge people by their clothes instead of their hearts!

Daniel turned away from his mother, walking down the long driveway with his head bowed in shame.

Victoria: Daniel! Where are you going?! Don't leave me here alone!

Daniel: I'm going to find a job, Mom. A real job. Because unlike you, I have to figure out how to live with what I've done.

Victoria stood alone on the marble driveway as the sheriff's deputies placed yellow police tape across the grand entrance doors.
