Unexplainable Medical Phenomena

A Seven Year Old Boy Saved His Dying Sister In The ICU banner

Dr. Vance: I have been a chief medical officer for twenty-four years, Mr. Miller, and I have never seen anything like this.

David: How did her heart just start beating again after flatlining for over two minutes?

Dr. Vance: Scientifically, it shouldn't be possible. Her brain was without oxygen, her heart muscle had completely ceased contraction.

Sarah: It happened the exact second Toby touched her chest!

Dr. Vance: I know what it looked like, Mrs. Miller, but we have to consider medical possibilities. It could have been a delayed reaction to the epinephrine.

Toby: It wasn't the medicine, Doctor. I told her she had to stay with us.

Dr. Vance: Toby, buddy... did you feel anything when you put your hand inside the bed?

Toby: I felt a little warm spark go from my fingers into her heart.

Dr. Vance looked at the young boy, unable to find any words to explain what he was hearing.

Sarah: Is she stable now? Can I hold her?

Dr. Vance: Her oxygen levels are at ninety-eight percent. Her heart rate is completely normal. In fact, she no longer requires the ventilator machine.

David: You're taking her off life support because she doesn't need it anymore?

Dr. Vance: She is breathing entirely on her own. It's as if her lungs suddenly matured in a matter of seconds.

Sarah: Oh, thank God! Thank God!

Sarah rushed over to the incubator, the nurses helping her open the main glass door so she could lift tiny Lily into her arms.

Tears of pure joy streamed down Sarah's face as she cradled the warm, breathing baby against her chest.

Sarah: My sweet baby girl... you came back to us.

David: Look at her eyes, Sarah. She's wide awake.

Toby: See? I told you she just wanted her teddy bear.

Toby gently placed the small brown bear next to the baby's blanket inside Sarah's arms.

Dr. Vance: We still need to run a full brain scan and neurological workup to ensure there was no oxygen-deprivation damage.

David: Run whatever tests you need, Doctor. We want to be one hundred percent sure she is safe.

Dr. Vance: We will transfer her to the step-down nursery for observation tonight. But if these numbers remain steady, she might be able to go home by the end of the week.

Sarah: A week ago you told us she wouldn't survive the night...

Dr. Vance: Medical science has limits, Mrs. Miller. Today, I think we all witnessed something that exists way beyond those limits.

David: Toby, come here give your dad a hug.

David lifted his son into a tight embrace, kissing his forehead as tears leaked from his eyes.

David: You saved your little sister today, buddy. You were so brave.

Toby: I just didn't want her to leave before I could show her my toys, Dad.

Sarah: You are our little guardian angel, Toby.

As the family stood together inside the quiet ICU room, nobody noticed the head administrator standing in the doorway with a dark look on his face.
