The Secret In Manhattan

A Pregnant Woman Targeted A Little Boy At A Texas Estate Party banner

Amanda: Richard, don't call the police! We can settle this privately!

Richard: Settling it privately means letting a criminal walk out of my home with my family heirloom.

Amanda: I'll give the necklace back! It's in my dressing room safe!

Leo: No, it isn't. It's tucked right inside your left hip padding.

Leo pointed toward the bulging fabric on Amanda's dark dress, where a heavy outline was visible under the satin.

Amanda: You keep your mouth shut, you brat!

Richard: Do not raise your voice to my son again, Amanda!

Amanda: He ruined our life, Richard! We were going to be happy!

Richard: Happy?! Built on a fake baby and stolen diamonds?!

Leo: Dad, show her the insurance papers you received this morning.

Richard reached into his jacket pocket, pulling out a folded white paper with a legal seal at the top.

Richard: The New York insurance investigators flagged your name two days ago, Amanda.

Amanda: That... that's impossible. I cleared the security desk without a scan.

Richard: You cleared the desk because you used my corporate clearance badge! You made my firm an accomplice to grand larceny!

Amanda: I needed the money! My family in Florida was facing foreclosure on their estate!

Richard: You could have asked me for a loan! I would have helped your family!

Amanda: You would have asked questions! You would have looked into my background!

Leo: Which would have revealed that you're already married to a man in Miami.

The entire foyer fell dead silent as the guests standing near the dining archway gasped in shock.

Richard: What did you just say, Leo?

Leo: She never divorced her first husband, Dad. She changed her last name three years ago after a fraud lawsuit in Florida.

Amanda sat on the floor, her breath catching in her throat as her hands began to shake violently.

Amanda: How... how did you find out about Florida?

Leo: I hired a private investigator with my own allowance money last month. I knew you were fake the day you refused to let me see the ultrasound pictures.

Richard: My ten-year-old son had to hire a private investigator because I was too blind to see what you were doing!
