The Maid In Blue Proved She Was No Victim

The grand ballroom was filled with music and laughter, but the air felt ice-cold. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceiling, casting bright lights over hundreds of wealthy guests dressed in expensive suits and ball gowns.

Clara adjusted the collar of her light blue server uniform. She kept her head down, holding a silver tray loaded with champagne flutes. She was only there to do her job, clear tables, and earn her hourly wage to pay for her mother's hospital bills.

Veronica: Watch where you're standing, girl!

Veronica, wearing a sweeping red designer gown, stepped right into Clara's path. She held an expensive glass of wine, her golden diamond bracelet catching the light.

Clara: Excuse me, ma'am. I'm just trying to clear these glasses.

Veronica: You almost ruined my dress with your cheap presence!

Clara: I didn't touch your dress, Miss Vance.

Veronica sneered, raising her hand high in the air. Before anyone could react, she swung her hand down toward Clara's face. But Clara wasn't going to let herself be hit. With lighting speed, Clara raised her hand and slapped Veronica hard across the cheek!

A loud snap echoed across the entire ballroom. The music seemed to stop all at once. Veronica stumbled back, hitting the polished floor hard. Her lip cracked open, leaving a trickle of dark blood on her chin.

The entire room went dead silent. Dozens of high-society guests gasped in shock, staring at the maid standing tall over the heiress.

Veronica glared up from the floor, holding her bloody mouth in pure disbelief. Clara stared back down at her with cold, intense anger in her eyes.

Veronica: You... you hit me!

Clara: Don't ever raise your hand at me again.

Veronica scrambled to get up, her face twisted in rage. She raised her palm to strike Clara again, but Clara was faster. She delivered a second, sharper slap right across Veronica's cheek, sending her crashing back onto the wooden floor.

Julian: ENOUGH! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!

Julian, the wealthy host of the gala, rushed into the center of the crowd. He glared at Clara in absolute outrage as Veronica wept dramatically on the floor.

Clara: SHE WAS GOING TO HIT ME. AND I DON'T LET ANYONE TOUCH ME.

Veronica: SEARCH HER ROOM! SHE STOLE MY BRACELET!

Veronica pointed an accusing, trembling finger at Clara from the floor. Clara stood composed and still, staring down with cold indifference as the guests began to whisper. But Veronica had no idea that her lie was about to trigger a chain of events that would destroy her own family forever.
