The golden light of late afternoon washed over the manicured lawn of the estate. Crystal glassware sparkled on round tables, and white roses covered the garden archway. Everything about the outdoor venue screamed wealth, perfection, and absolute luxury.
Chloe: Watch where you are going, you idiot!
A loud splash cut through the soft string music as Maya lost her footing. She tumbled backward into the wide stone fountain, cold water soaking through her purple server uniform in seconds.
Maya: I am so sorry! The grass was slippery—
Chloe: Look at what you almost did to my dress! Do you have any idea how much this white lace gown costs?
Maya tried to stand up, her wet shoes slipping against the slick bottom of the stone fountain. The ice-cold water drenched her clothes, her hair, and her shoes.
Chloe: Get out of my face, you nobody! Learn your place!
Maya: It was an accident, ma'am. I swear I didn't mean to trip.
Chloe: You ruined my grand entrance! You don't belong anywhere near a venue like this!
The dozens of wealthy guests in suits and silk dresses turned around, whispering behind their polished hands. Maya hung her head, shivering from the cold water and the stinging shame of everyone staring at her.
Chloe: Security! Get this pathetic girl off the property right now!
Howard: Hold on a second.
A mature man in a crisp black tuxedo stepped forward from the main table, holding a wireless microphone in his hand. His face was cold, stern, and entirely unreadable as he walked toward the fountain.
Chloe: Howard! Tell them to kick her out! She almost ruined my custom gown!
Howard: Let's tell everyone whose money paid for this wedding...
Chloe's face dropped instantly into an exaggerated expression of absolute horror. Her eyes went wide, her mouth falling open as panic flooded her chest.
Chloe: Howard, wait!
Howard tapped the microphone twice, the sharp sound echoing through the outdoor speakers and freezing every guest in their tracks.
Howard: Before we start the reception, there are a few important things everyone here needs to know.
