Julian: Vanessa... what is on this screen?
Vanessa: Julian, don't look at that! She forged it! She's trying to get money out of us!
Clara: I didn't forge anything, sir. That video was taken two minutes ago from the serving station behind those curtains.
Julian: Is that why you slapped her, Vanessa? Because she saw you?
Vanessa: No! She was being disrespectful to our family name!
Julian: Shut up, Vanessa. Let me see that phone again.
Clara held the phone steady, wiping a tear from her bloody cheek with her free sleeve.
Clara: You can see her golden ring right there, sir. The one with the emerald cut diamond.
Julian: That's the ring I bought you for our fifth anniversary last month.
Vanessa: Julian, please listen to me! Someone paid her to set me up!
Julian: Nobody paid her to do anything! Look at the glass she's pointing at!
Julian looked down at the crystal wine glass sitting on the white tablecloth right next to his plate.
A faint white film was still floating near the top of the dark red liquid.
Julian: You put something in my Pinot Noir.
Vanessa: It was just a supplement! A vitamin powder for your heart!
Clara: Vitamin powders don't come in medical seal foil packets marked with a biohazard label, ma'am.
Vanessa: You nosy little brat! I'll destroy you for this!
Vanessa reached across the table, grabbing a heavy silver butter knife, but Julian caught her wrist before she could swing.
Julian: Don't touch her again, Vanessa!
Vanessa: Let go of me, Julian! You're taking the word of a servant over your wife?!
Julian: A servant who just saved me from drinking whatever poison you poured in my cup!
Clara: Sir, please step away from the table. She might have another packet in her purse.
Julian pushed his chair back, standing up so fast the heavy wooden legs scraped loudly against the marble floor.
Julian: Manager! Call the police right now!
Manager: Sir, is everything alright? We heard the commotion—
Julian: My wife just tried to poison me. Call the police and lock the main exit doors!
Vanessa: Julian, you can't do this! Think about our reputation! Think about the company stock!
Julian: I am thinking about my life, Vanessa! The life you were trying to take for my fortune!
Vanessa pulled her wrist free from Julian's grip and grabbed her designer leather handbag off the table.
Vanessa: You're all crazy! Every single one of you!
She turned around to bolt toward the grand entryway, but Clara moved quickly, blocking the narrow space between two marble pillars.
Clara: You aren't going anywhere until the police inspect that bag.
Vanessa: Get out of my way, you pathetic beggar!
Vanessa shoved Clara hard against the pillar, but Clara held her ground, holding the woman's arms tightly.
Julian: Hold her right there, Clara! Don't let her run!
Two male restaurant attendants rushed forward, helping Clara restrain Vanessa as she kicked and screamed in her expensive yellow dress.
Vanessa: Unhand me! Do you know who my father is?! I will sue this establishment into the ground!
Clara: You can sue whoever you want from a prison cell, ma'am.
