Tiffany: Mom, stop it! This is crazy! I have guests here! We're celebrating my birthday!
Martha: The party is over. Every person in this room can either leave right now or stay to help me clean up the mess my daughter made.
Brenda immediately stood up from her chair, grabbing her designer handbag from the floor.
Brenda: You know what, Tiffany? I think I'm going to head home early tonight. My stomach is feeling a bit off.
Tiffany: Brenda! You're my best friend! You're going to just walk out on me?!
Brenda: Tiffany, you just talked to your mother like she was dirt on your shoe. Honestly, it was disgusting to watch.
Tiffany: I paid for your trip to Miami last month! I bought you that bracelet you're wearing right now!
Brenda: You bought it with your mother's trust fund money, apparently. Goodnight, Tiffany.
Brenda walked briskly down the hallway, her heels clicking fast against the floor before the front door clicked shut behind her.
One by one, the other relatives and corporate associates began standing up, making quiet excuses as they gathered their coats.
Associate 1: I have an early meeting tomorrow morning... happy birthday, Tiffany.
Associate 2: Thanks for the meal, Mrs. Vance. We'll be taking our leave now.
Within three short minutes, the bustling, energetic birthday dinner was completely empty, leaving only Greg, Tiffany, and Martha standing near the table.
Tiffany: Greg... tell her she can't do this! We're getting married in six months! We already put a deposit on the country club!
Greg slowly reached down, pulling his suit jacket back over his broad shoulders as he looked at Tiffany with a troubled expression.
Greg: Tiffany... is it true? Does your mother really control the estate and the company stock?
Tiffany: Why does that matter right now?! I'm your fiancee! You're supposed to stand by me no matter what!
Greg: It matters because you told my family you owned twenty million dollars in corporate assets outright! You signed our prenuptial agreement under those terms!
Tiffany: We can fix the prenup! I'll talk to my lawyers tomorrow morning!
Greg: There's nothing to fix, Tiffany. You lied to me about your entire financial background, and you treated your own mother like trash in front of twelve people.
Tiffany: Greg, please! Don't do this to me! Not tonight!
Greg: I need some time to think about this wedding, Tiff. I don't think I can marry someone who acts like this when the cameras are off.
Greg turned around and walked down the long corridor without looking back once, his heavy footsteps fading toward the foyer.
Tiffany collapsed into a dining chair, burying her face in her trembling hands as loud, hysterical sobs broke from her chest.
Tiffany: You destroyed my entire life... you ruined my marriage, my friends, and my reputation!
Martha: You destroyed your own life the day you decided money was more valuable than human decency, Tiffany.
