The Broken Promise

My Angry Ex-Husband Tried To Steal Our Daughter's Trust Fund banner

David: Get up and sign the papers, Laura! I'm not asking you again!

Laura: I won't sign it... That's Lily's future. It's for her college and her medical expenses.

David: I don't care about her college! I care about my business right now!

Laura: You're her father! How can you be so heartless?!

David: I gave you this house in the divorce settlement, and this is how you repay me?!

Laura: You didn't give me this house, David! My parents paid the mortgage down payment!

David picked up a glass vase from the counter and slammed it into the sink, shattering it into dozens of sharp pieces.

David: Don't talk back to me! I built my life with my own hands, and you're sabotaging me!

Laura: You sabotaged yourself with your illegal investments and gambling debts!

Laura slowly tried to push herself up off the cold tile floor, but her left knee was throbbing with intense pain. Lily was sobbing hysterically from her chair, her tiny legs swinging back and forth in terror.

Lily: Daddy, please stop yelling at Mommy!

David: Be quiet, Lily! Go to your room!

Laura: Don't you dare raise your voice at our daughter!

David: She needs to learn that I run things around here, not you!

Laura: You don't live here anymore, David! We've been divorced for over a year!

David: The judge made a mistake! I still have rights to this property and every asset you own!

Laura: You signed the divorce decree! You waived all rights to my father's estate!

David: That decree was signed under duress! My lawyer is filing an appeal tomorrow!

Laura: You can file whatever you want in court, but you will not take my daughter's money!

David stepped forward, towering over Laura while holding the pen out in his trembling hand.

David: Take this pen, Laura. Take it and sign the trust fund release form right now.

Laura: Never.

David: I'm giving you three seconds before I break everything in this house!

Laura: Go ahead! Break it all! The police will be here any minute!

David's eyes narrowed as he sneered down at her with complete contempt.

David: You didn't call the police. You didn't even have time to reach your phone.

Laura: I didn't need to call them, David.

David: What are you talking about?!

Laura: Look behind you.

David froze for a brief second, hearing the heavy sound of combat boots marching down the hallway corridor. Before he could turn his head, the kitchen door swung wide open, hitting the wall with a loud bang.
