Officer Davis: Is there an Arthur Pendelton in this room?
Arthur: Over here, Officer. I am the court-appointed executor for the Vance estate.
Officer Davis: We received a report regarding grand theft and unauthorized bank transfers involving Eleanor Vance.
Eleanor: Officer! This is a private family dispute at my son's wedding! There is no crime here!
Chloe: There is a crime, Officer. She forged my husband's signature on a home mortgage and stole property keys from his suit coat.
Officer Davis: Ma'am, are those the keys currently in your right hand?
Eleanor gripped the brass key ring tighter, backing away toward the corner of the head table.
Eleanor: These are keys to my family's property! I have every legal right to hold them!
Arthur: Here is the certified deed, Officer Davis. As you can see, the property belongs exclusively to Ethan Vance.
Officer Davis took the document from Arthur, scanning the official court seals with a stern look on his face.
Officer Davis: Mrs. Vance, please hand the keys over to your son immediately.
Eleanor: I won't! You can't force me to give up my home!
Ethan: It was never your home, Mom. It was Dad's house. And he gave it to me.
Chloe: Give us the keys, Eleanor. It's over.
Eleanor glared at Chloe with pure hatred, slowly opening her hand and letting the heavy brass keys drop onto the white tablecloth with a loud thud.
Chloe picked up the keys, slipping them into her small bridal purse.
Officer Davis: Mrs. Vance, we also have a warrant for your arrest regarding financial forgery filed by the county prosecutor's office.
Eleanor: An arrest warrant?! For me?! On my son's wedding day?!
Ethan: You brought this on yourself, Eleanor. You spent three years lying to my face.
Eleanor: Ethan, you can't let them take me away in handcuffs! Think about what the news will say!
Ethan: I don't care about the news anymore. I care about my wife and my real family.
Officer Davis stepped behind Eleanor, pulling her hands behind her back and snapping cold steel handcuffs around her wrists.
Eleanor: Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am?!
Officer Davis: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
Chloe: Goodbye, Eleanor. Enjoy your new room at the county station.
The guests watched in utter shock as the officers led the screaming woman out of the ballroom, her dark navy dress dragging along the polished floor.
