The Scramble On The Marble

Arrogant Executive Attacks Delivery Girl In Corporate Hallway banner

Chad: Ma'am... Mrs. Vance... there must be a mistake!

Victoria: The only mistake here was hiring a arrogant bully like you to represent my firm!

Chad stammered, stepping back while holding his bruised, burning cheek.

Chad: I didn't know she was related to you! She was wearing an orange safety vest!

Victoria: So you treat hard-working people like garbage if they wear a vest instead of a thousand-dollar suit?

Chad: No! Of course not, ma'am! I was just under a lot of stress about the quarterly report!

Victoria: Do not use my company's reports as an excuse for your vile behavior!

Maya pushed herself up from the floor, holding her burned fingers against her apron.

Maya: Vic... please, don't cause a big scene on my account.

Victoria: Stay right there, Maya. Let me look at your hands.

Victoria grabbed a clean silk handkerchief from her suit pocket and gently wrapped it around Maya's red fingers.

Victoria: Look at what you did to her, Chad! The soup was boiling hot!

Chad: I... I will pay for her medical bill! I'll pay for the food! I'll pay triple!

Victoria: You think your money can wipe away the fact that you kicked a bag at a human being?

Chad: Please, Mrs. Vance! I have a mortgage on my house! My kids are in private school!

Victoria: Then you should have thought about your family before you humiliated someone else's.

The surrounding staff members murmured in agreement, pulling out their phones to record the confrontation.

Employee 1: Is that really her sister?

Employee 2: Yeah, I heard Victoria's younger sister took a gap year to work odd jobs and understand real life!

Employee 1: Chad is so done for. His career is over in this town.

Chad looked around at the growing circle of employees, his face turning bright red with shame.

Chad: Turn those cameras off! All of you, get back to your desks right now!

Victoria: Do not order my employees around, Chad. You don't have the authority anymore.

Chad: What do you mean... anymore?

Victoria: As of ten seconds ago, your contract with Vance Global is suspended pending an immediate board review.

Chad: You can't fire me for a personal disagreement in the hallway! My team brings in millions in revenue!

Victoria: I don't care if you bring in billions. Nobody abuses a worker in my building and keeps their corner office.

Chad: Mrs. Vance, please! Let's discuss this in your private office!

Victoria: Get down on your knees, Chad.

Chad stopped dead in his tracks, blinking in total disbelief.

Chad: What did you just say?

Victoria: You heard me. Get down on your knees and clean up every single drop of food you kicked onto this floor.

Chad: I am a senior vice president! I don't clean floors!

Victoria: Then you can leave the building right now in handcuffs for destruction of property and physical assault.

The two tall security guards stepped forward, their heavy boots thudding loudly on the marble tiles.

Chad's mouth twitched as he looked at the guards, then down at the mess on the ground.

Slowly, awkwardly, Chad dropped to his hands and knees on the cold marble floor.

He reached out with his trembling hands and began picking up pieces of crushed plastic containers in front of fifty staring employees.

Maya: Vic... you don't have to make him do that.

Victoria: Yes, I do, Maya. It's time Mr. Vice President learned what honest work actually feels like.
