Julian forcefully stepped back, pulling his pant leg out of Victoria's desperate grip.
Julian: My reputation is fine. Yours is completely destroyed.
Victoria: You can't call the police! If the media finds out, your family stock will drop!
Julian: My family stock is worth billions. Your freedom, however, is officially over.
Julian pulled his own phone from his pocket and speed-dialed the local police chief.
Julian: Chief Miller? I need a team at the Grand St. Regis Banquet Hall immediately. Attempted murder and poisoning.
Victoria: NO! Julian, don't do this to me!
Julian: We have high-definition video footage, physical evidence on the table, and sixty witnesses.
Victoria scrambled back onto her feet, her lace dress dirty and torn, her eyes darting around the room for an exit.
Victoria: Somebody help me! My father is a major investor in this hotel!
Hotel Manager: Not anymore, Miss Victoria. Your father's credit cards were declined at the front desk twenty minutes ago.
Victoria: What?! That's impossible!
Hotel Manager: He is currently being investigated for bank fraud. And after today, you'll be joining him.
Guest 3: Unbelievable. She acted so sweet at the rehearsal dinner.
Guest 4: Pure evil! She slapped a poor maid who was trying to save a man's life!
Victoria: Shut up! All of you, shut up! You don't know what it's like to lose everything!
Clara: My mother works sixteen hours a day as a janitor, ma'am. We know what it's like to have nothing. But we don't try to murder people for money.
Eleanor: Well said, Clara.
